Thursday November 12th, 2020, U-alumnus Joannes Visser successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation and propositions at Delft University of Technology.
Therewith he obtained the degree of doctor. Joannes was part of the study tour committee to Shanghai 2010/2011 and a member of the 25th board of U-Dispuut in 2011/2012, and therewith a very active member of the U-community in the past.
The title of his dissertation is "Creating a New Perspective by Integrating Frames Through Design" and is briefly about the "what, why, and how" of integrated design. The work contributes to the development of integrated design with respect to terminology, methodology, and insights from practice. Joannes worked in collaboration with the research group DIMI (Delta's Infrastructure & Mobility Initiative) and the department of Integral Design & Management under the supervision of his promotor prof.dr.ir. Marcel Hertogh. The dissertation, which can be found at the repository of the TU Delft, is highly recommended for anyone that has to deal with integrated design or students that start their graduation in integrated design and want to have more grip on the concept.
